Hybrid role: Requires to be in the office in Tacoma, at least 2 days a week

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team, reporting to the senior director of Software Engineering. In this role, you will design leading-edge, market-disrupting cybersecurity solutions in our fast-paced, high-functioning, global environment. You will specifically develop systems to distribute and manage large volumes of data used by governments and multinational corporations to defend their networks against cyber-attack.
You're the ideal candidate if your passion involves writing high-quality code for a cutting-edge SaaS solution and value ongoing communication and socialization of amazing discoveries throughout a tight-knit community of engineers.
What you'll do:
Develop deep mastery of assigned coding projects and associated technologies
Demonstrate proficiency with key components of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Optimize selected code sets for enhanced performance
Write unit and functional tests for key product components
Conduct bug fixes as needed
Test and document projects as required
What you'll bring:
12 plus years of knowledge and experience of standard web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, TypeScript
Experience programming an object-oriented language (Golang, C/C++, Java, Python or similar)
Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
Knowledge of Linux environments and general networking concepts
Motivated self-starter who excels in dynamic, fast-paced, and team-oriented environments
Ability to produce logically structured, accurate, and clearly written materials
Communicates issues factually and openly
Actively shares knowledge and information with other employees to enhance team productivity
BS in Computer Science or equivalent
What success looks like:
After six months, you will
Develop expertise in GoLang
Learn new skills related to cloud technologies
Develop expertise in a microservices architecture in Kubernetes
After about a year, you will
Have made a significant contribution to our services
Have made a significant contribution to our design and processes
Start taking ownership of product features
Starting to be an expert in Kubernetes

You can expect our employment offers to take many factors into consideration, including but not limited to the location of the role, internal equity, applicable past experience, individual skill set, education, and professional certifications. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned is the base salary range for the role. The typical base salary range for this position is $145,500 - $219,230 plus corporate bonus.
