Job Number: R Robotics Autonomy Engineer, Senior
Key Role: Lead the research and development of multi-agent teams of robotic systems across multiple operational domains and mission areas. Function at the intersection of sof tware and hardware to design, build, test, and demonstrate new autonomy capabilities that address complex client problems. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Serve on an interdisciplinary team c ond ucting research and development of novel autonomy solutions for DoD clients. Work independently on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions, te chn ical oversight, and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers. Basic Qualifications: Experience with robotics, unmanned systems, or systems engineering for equipment hardware, including circuits or sensors Experience with Robot Operating Systems ( ROS ) Ability to use ROS for the development of custom messages, nodes, packages, or stacks Ability to provide backend sof tware development in C++ or Python for embedded Linux systems Ability to provide algorithms and sof tware support for mobile robot sensing, perception, localization, navigation, and behaviors in aerial or ground domains Ability to communicate complex te chn ical topics to a variety of audiences, in written and verbal formats Ability to obtain a security clearance Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics and 2+ years of experience in Engineering, or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics Additional Qualifications: Experience with developing architectures and algorithms for multi-agent, distributed collaborative autonomy, including developing collaborative or swarming behaviors and tactics Experience with Docker image development and container deployment Experience with Git-based version control and branch or tag strategies Knowledge of military strategy, operations, and tactics Ability to develop strategy for internal research and development efforts to support reaching specific business goals Ability to lead a diverse te chn ical team in strategy, project planning, and project execution Ability to provide sof tware maintenance and deployment, including version control, CI / CD, packaging, containerization, and documentation Ability to professionally interact with clients to understand their needs, recommend courses of action, and present or demonstrate results Doctorate degree in Computer Science or Engineering Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information . Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
