Position Description: The Imaging Scientist/Specialist will design, test, and implement remote sensing systems and devices, and provide image system support in support of mission requirements. You will maintain proficiency with existing techniques, algorithms, and scientific analysis using image processing software and research emerging technologies to develop innovative solutions. You will also support training related to imaging systems and prepare documentation with technical detail and proper engineering techniques. Coordination with Government Project Managers (PM), other contractors, and vendors is necessary to validate project specifications and maintain critical operations. Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, Education and Credentials Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Additional work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
5+ years of technical experience in a role involving image processing and/or analysis. Experience with the maintenance, evaluation, repair, design, fabrication, and installation of electro-optical equipment.
Experience analyzing operational requirements and implementing recommended solutions.
Expert knowledge of image processing, statistical analysis, and spectroscopy
Advanced programming skills in languages such as ENVI, IDL, MATLAB, Python, Java, or C/C++.
Experience documenting and presenting scientific data.
