Job Description Huntington Ingalls Industries, Mission Technologies Division (HII-MT) is considering innovative candidates for a Software Engineer. This individual will be supporting NASIC in various areas requiring software development. The growth potential of this position is only limited by the candidate's desire and ability to learn new skills. Candidates should possess good people skills to be able to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists solving challenging technical problems. TS/SCI is required to support this position. Knowledge of software engineering in order to support the design, development, testing and evaluation, implementation, maintenance, and administration of new and/or existing software systems. US Citizenship Required; TS with SCI Eligibility Essential Job Responsibilities Ability to design and develop real-time software with minimal supervision
Ability to work with a large multi-discipline team or along as the projects dictate
Good oral and written communication skills
Desire and ability to learn new skills
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
Ensures software standards are met.
Minimum Qualifications 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; Active Top Secret TS/SCI or Top Secret with SCI eligibility
Preferred Requirements Experience with Multiple Programming Languages (C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Angular)
Experience with Front End, Back End or Full stack development
Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
Security+ certification preferred
Experience with software development in NASIC
