The Network Engineer is onboard Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) to provide technical support to the Dolus Program for Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV). The ideal candidate will have experience with research, development, test, evaluation, engineering, and maintenance within a U.S. Navy Surface Warfare environment. This is a mid-level position that will require periodic communications with senior level military and civilian personnel. Required to configure and troubleshoot Cisco Routers and Switches as required to support network operations within the vessel. Embarked network systems will include the Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) and the Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise System (CANES)
Interface required with Communications Systems to include UHF SATCOM Mobile Objective User System (MUOS), JMACS, Intellian Antennas, Commercial Broadband Satellite Program (CBSP) MIDS/JTRS (Link-16). Will be required to use/input crypto key mat as required for classified system operation
Assist in conducting test and experiment events, collecting data, analyzing information, and reporting results. May be required to get underway with the vessels to support testing and maintenance efforts as they occur.
Assist in the creation, performance, and analysis of test events for a variety of applications for routine military operations.
Coordinate with technical personnel from Naval Information Warfare Command (NIWC) and various US Navy Systems Commands on related projects to plan, brief, conduct, and debrief tests and experiments.
Provide regular technical status reporting to US Government engineers and senior military personnel.
Pay rate: $80,000 to $120,000 Annually REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: B.S. or B.A. in a Technology related field desired but not required.
Strong communications skills required. Ability and usage of all Microsoft (MS365) products required. Must be able to brief and report daily as testing evolutions progress.
Applicable experience with maintenance operations and related CONUS and OCONUS military and civilian operations is desirable.
Ability to create and maintain test documents is desirable.
Understanding roles of and interactions between higher echelon Navy commands is desirable.
Position involves remote work from home, as well as underway time when required for event execution.
Travel Required: 10-25%.

Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or be able to obtain or reestablish this level of clearance.
