Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a dynamic and exceptional Project Manager to support the Post Boost Attitude Control Module (PBACM) Team on the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) system, knowns as the Sentinel ICBM Program. As a Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance and oversight throughout the lifecycle of the PBACM acquisition process, from planning and design through implementation and delivery. Why Sentinel (formerly GBSD)?
The Sentinel Program is an enormous and complex "Mega-Project" modernizing the entire ICBM weapon system deployed across tens of thousands of square miles in five states. Without a doubt, Sentinel is one of the Department of Defense's (DoD) most important acquisition efforts for the next decade, if not longer. It includes a complete refurbishment or replacement of hundreds of aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities to secure and support a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile. It will also provide an entirely new command and control system as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead. Sentinel is one of the DoD's newest official "programs of record," having recently achieved Acquisitions Milestone B and enjoys broad, strong support at the national level. It is a long-term project with the weapon system anticipated to deploy over a nine-year period beginning in 2026 and remaining operational until at least 2075. Sentinel is a career defining program that will present unique and challenging opportunities that are simply not available with smaller projects. Job Description:
In this role will serve as an integral part of the LGM-35A Sentinel Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Post Boost Branch. The AVE Division plays a critical role within the Sentinel program, focusing on evaluating the design of solid rocket motors, guidance, navigation, and control equipment, and post-boost liquid propulsion systems. The Post Boost Branch collaborates closely with the customer to ensure meticulous alignment with project requirements throughout the design and development phases. The ideal candidate will forge strong partnerships with both our customers and our dedicated team of engineers and project managers. Together, they will pioneer innovation, conduct risk assessments, thoroughly evaluate schedule impacts, and orchestrate activities towards achieving success of the Post Boost Propulsion System. Duties include:
Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans to guide the acquisition process effectively.
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and cross-functional teams, to ensure alignment and successful execution. Requirement Management: Work Closely with the customer to understand and document project requirements, ensuring they are clearly defined and achievable within project constraints.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the acquisition process, conducting thorough risk assessments, and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impacts.
Schedule Management: Monitor project progress against Earned Value (EV) Metrics and planned schedules, utilizing EV tools and techniques to identify potential delays and recommend corrective actions to keep the program on schedule.
Cost management: Utilize EV principles to manage project expenditures against earned value metrics and allocated budgets, tracking expenses and recommend cost-saving measure to maximize value for the program.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet the requirement, standards, and customer expectations.
Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with all relevant DoD Acquisition regulations, policies, and procedures, including FAR, DFARS, and DCAA requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the acquisition process, implementing best practices and lessons learned to enhance program outcomes and performance. Communication: Facilitate regular communication with stakeholders, provide updates on project status, milestones achieved, and key decisions to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the program.
Leadership: ensure a cohesive and dynamic team atmosphere, guiding and supporting project team members under the oversight of the leadership to optimize their capabilities and enhance their contributions to the program. Why BAE Systems?
