Responsibilities Our qualified candidate will become part of Peraton's Department of State (DOS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective, and secure business processes. Peraton's DSCM program encompasses technical, engineering, data analytics, cyber security, management, operational, logistical, and administrative support to aid and advise DOS Cyber & Technology Security (CTS) Directorate. This includes protecting a global cyber infrastructure comprising networks, systems, information, and mobile devices all while identifying and responding to cyber risks and threats. Those supporting Peraton's DSCM program strive to leverage their expert knowledge and propose creative solutions to real-world cybersecurity challenges. The Data Center Manager is responsible for the overall management, operation, and security of the organization's data center facility. This critical role involves overseeing data center infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, implementing best practices, and maintaining the highest standards of reliability, availability, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Data Center Operations: Responsible for day-to-day data center operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data center operations.
Maintain a robust and secure data center environment, including power distribution, cooling systems, and physical security.Infrastructure Management: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of data center hardware, including servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.
Implement and manage data center infrastructure upgrades and expansions as needed.Performance Optimization: Monitor and assess the performance of data center equipment and systems, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
Implement strategies for optimizing resource utilization, energy efficiency, and performance.Security and Compliance: Develop and enforce security protocols and access controls to protect data center assets and sensitive information.
Ensure compliance with data center-related regulations and standards, such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST.Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure data center resiliency in case of unforeseen events or disasters.
Conduct regular testing and drills to verify the effectiveness of these plans.Vendor and Budget Management: Manage relationships with data center service providers, hardware vendors, and contractors. Develop and manage the data center budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data center configurations, procedures, and incidents.
Generate regular reports on data center performance, uptime, and efficiency.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications- To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 9 years experience. an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Proven experience in data center management or related roles.
Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, hardware, and networking.
Familiarity with data center best practices, standards, and security protocols.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Possess or be able to obtain before start date one of the following certifications: CASP+CE, CCNA Cyber ops, CCNA-Security, CCNP-Security, CEH, CFR, ISA, CISSP (or Associate), Cloud+, CySA+, GCED, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, SCYBER, or VCA DCV.
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain an interim Secret clearance before start date. In addition, must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements: The ability to lift and move data center equipment as needed.
Availability for on-call duties and occasional after-hours work for maintenance or emergencies.
Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
