Desired End State (3-4 month target) At the end of four months, the intern will be able to describe core functions of program management (as well as other supporting functions), have a basic knowledge of in-demand technologies, procedures for contracting with government, managing program operations to ensure production schedules are met, system resources are utilized efficiently and effectively, and proper relationships are established between customers.
The intern will gain a functional understanding of safety, quality, schedule, performance, and risk identification / mitigation on initiatives including but not limited to systems, tools, equipment, software, facilities, and other activities.
The intern will be oriented to profit and loss of a large complex program. The intern will be trained on all phases of programs, with primary emphasis on inception (business development).
