We are seeking a highly skilled Calibration Engineer to join our Engineering department at our Lafayette, Indiana location. As a Calibration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the software product cycle, collaborating with customers, and ensuring optimal performance of our cutting-edge technologies in commercial vehicles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drive the entire software product cycle, including new customer functional development initiatives, software development, calibration activities, prototype support, validation, engineering release, truck assembly plant support, and field troubleshooting.
Represent ZF as the technical liaison, providing expert guidance on software functional changes, change management processes, and clarification of product specifications and component functions.
Lead software program deliveries by tracking action items, calibration program timing, and software releases. Develop and execute system-level test plans, functional test procedures, and verification testing.
Communicate plans, results, and technical information to various stakeholders including managers, colleagues, industry partners, and customers through reports, presentations, and development documentation.
Actively participate in continuous improvement activities, testing and developing calibrations and control systems, exploring new technologies, and contributing to patentable designs.
Provide technical support to the Field Organization, Service Parts, Purchasing, Sales and Marketing, OEMs, and suppliers.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in powertrain control principles and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our offerings.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical, Computer/Software, or related field). Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a software development engineer or calibration development engineer within the automotive industry.
Proficiency in developing real-time embedded software control systems for vehicles.
Strong understanding of electromechanical systems design, troubleshooting, and repair.
Experience with data acquisition, analysis, and statistical methods.
Familiarity with North American Class 3-8 engines and standard engine/transmission hardware, service tools, and software is a plus.
Knowledge of automotive communication links (SAE J1939, SAE J1587), ABS controls, engine controls, and transmission controls.
Proficient with data acquisition and development tools (e.g., Vector CANape & CANalyzer, ETAS INCA, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with customers, cross-functional teams, and all levels of personnel/management.
Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple technical projects simultaneously.
Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
Possession of or ability to obtain a CDL is preferred.
