Senior C++ Software Engineer Department: Software Engineering Location: 320 Congress Street, Floor 1 Boston, MA 02210
Autonodyne is a Boston-based software company working to provide additive autonomy to unmanned vehicles in land, sea, and air domains. Our technology stack applies mainly to the defense sector, but we view most of our work as dual use for commercial applications. At Autonodyne we specialize in the command and control of autonomous vehicles. Our software suite sits at the nexus of Human-Machine Interface & Autonomy Behaviors. We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about unmanned systems. The ideal candidate can effectively utilize skills to work on software systems for autonomous systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle in C/C++.
The role is primarily for the individual to be a key individual contributor within our software development teams and provide technical leadership across the organization.
Responsibilities: • Lead and work with a team of developers of various skill levels;
• Develop, maintain, and optimize codebase, ensuring optimal performance and usability;
• Develop C++ implementations of signal processing algorithms and time critical control functions involved in direct control of autonomous systems;
• Design, develop, and improve architecture of autonomy core infrastructure;
• Work with systems, hardware, and software engineers to understand end-user requirements and apply implementation on new and established processing platforms;
• Develop robust, scalable, performance driven software to be deployed on a variety of computing systems;
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members;
• Expand the Autonomy mission computer for implementation at the edge;
• Integrate a ROTE (reasoning-at-the-edge) framework to improve performance of the company's existing autonomy behaviors;
• Support flight test, as required. Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science/ programming or related field; • 5+ years of experience in a Software Engineering role;
• Demonstrated advanced capabilities with C++, like extending existing code, complex decision-trees/ state machines;
• Direct experience implementing complex signal processing algorithms in C++ meeting latency and throughput performance requirements or experience in implementing complex control operations in software with defined performance timelines;
• Experience in GIT version-control software;
• Ability to quickly grasp and communicate technical subjects clearly and concisely;
• Experienced leader who supports individual growth and a mentor to less experienced team members;
• US Citizenship required;
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in computer science/ programming or related field;
• Interest or experience in aerospace engineering; • 2+ years' experience being a lead or senior developer;
• Active DoD Secret Clearance. Travel:
This position will likely involve travel to customer and non-customer sites principally in North America (up to 20%) but global travel is also possible.
Other Criteria:
Strongly prefer domicile near the Boston/Cambridge metro area but will consider non-local domicile - relocation to Boston area part of compensation package, if necessary.
Security clearance (active or previous) or the ability to be granted one desired.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $165,000 per year
