Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Chemical or Process Engineer at Tomorrow RNG located in McKinney, TX. As an Engineer, you will be responsible for various day-to-day tasks related to renewable natural gas production. This includes analyzing and optimizing operations, developing engineering solutions, conducting feasibility studies, managing projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Process Engineer primary duties include:
  • Develop and improve gas treatment processes
  • Measure and interpret data
  • Design, run, and upgrade gas plant processes
  • Build and interpret P&ID drawings
  • Assist in developing best management practices in plant and field
  • Perform process simulations and troubleshoot variations in actual plant performance
  • Manage fast-paced troubleshooting
  • Provide documentation and start-up/shutdown instructions
  • Program Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC
  • Program HMI (FactoryTalk and Wonderware)
  • Organize and budget plant expansion
  • Compression sizing for expansions and new projects

Other Responsibilities:

• Provide technical assistance to field personnel, including identifying gaps in processes or procedures.

• Understand and apply the applicable code requirements to ensure engineering, materials selection, material testing, and intended operation meet all requirements.

• Understand and make decisions around the implementation of processes, projects, or procedures that have direct impacts on the overall system and the area operations personnel.

• Understand and apply Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safe and reliable operation within TRNG.

• Understand operational documentation requirements and be able to support audits.

• Support the development and execution of project scopes associated with the TRNG facilities and equipment.

• Support the investigation of failures and reliability issues and develop solutions.

• Represent Operations and Engineering in supporting various expansion and upgrade projects.

• Support the development of RNG facility budgets as required.

• Support, track, and be accountable for assigned project costs and ensure appropriate scopes of work are developed and followed as approved

• Develop an understanding of the TRNG plants and operations. Understand how they are utilized and assist with maintaining efficient operations.

• Provide support in emergency response situations and efforts.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's in Chemical or Process Engineering Field

• Minimum of four (2) years of experience in Chemical or Process Engineering field
  • SLC 500 and Compact/Micro Logix experience
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of process standards
  • Proven experience in gas treatment processes
  • Working knowledge of standard engineering and process software
  • Organization and prioritization skills

Skills preferred:
  • 3+ years in a gas treatment environment
  • Rockwell PLC certifications• Understanding of Renewable or Natural Gas operation and reliability programs
    • Competencies: computer, communication, negotiation, purchasing, etc.
    • Good technical background. Experience in Facility Integrity, Reliability, or Operations
    • Organizational skills are a necessity. Engineer needs to be capable of managing the oversight of multiple projects
    • High-quality oral communication and writing skills
    • Experience leading in a team environment
    • Time in the field may include exposure to extreme hot or cold weather environments that are noisy and dirty at on-going construction sites
    • Knowledge of CFR 192 and other relevant codes a plus
