Job Details

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented BMS Design Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of Building Management Systems (BMS) that optimize the energy efficiency and operational performance of various building projects.

  • Design and configure complex building automation systems including integration to other low voltage systems.
  • Selects hardware, transducers and other components required to interface with controlled equipment.
  • Provides detailed information to communicate design intent to customers and subcontractors including flow diagrams, point to point wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, IO summaries, sequences of operation, equipment schedules, and product data sheets.
  • Completes project layout based on proposal, specifications and discussion with sales engineers and project engineers.
  • Coordinates field changes from the project team to create as-built drawings.
  • Prepares proper documentation and/or manuals for systems operation.
  • Participates in meetings with consulting engineers and project owners to resolve conflicts.

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience in the design of HVAC Control Systems preferred.
  • Previous experience or internships in BMS design, HVAC systems, or related fields is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software. Basic understanding of BMS protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail in design and documentation
  • Experience with one or more of the following platforms is preferred: Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Distech, Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Trane, Delta Controls, Automated Logic, or other
