Job Details
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and analysis of HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, and ductwork design, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Perform energy modeling and simulation to optimize system performance and achieve energy efficiency goals.
Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into building designs.
Prepare construction documents, specifications, and technical reports for bidding and construction purposes.
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that mechanical systems are installed and commissioned according to design requirements and applicable codes.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and drafters, fostering their professional development and growth.
Stay current with industry trends, codes, and regulations related to mechanical engineering and sustainability practices
Requirements:
Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer (PE License)
8+ years of engineering design and project management experience
Experience with all aspects of HVAC design
Experience with design-build projects.
Experience performing energy studies, audits, and analysis.
Involved with working knowledge of the Clean Buildings Law, HB1390, and Climate Action Plan.
Experience and knowledge of the state and local codes.
Comfortable and willing to present complex engineering concepts to clients, industry partners, and other staff.
Experience working on projects with the Division of State Architecture (DSA) permitting process is beneficial.
