The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are adding a Project Manager to our Architectural Metals team in Seattle, WA. You will be the Arch Metals teams' primary contact with general contractors, engineers, architects, owners, and other stakeholders of large-scale construction projects throughout Western Washington. You'll show expertise in all project management functions including developing project plans, schedules, scopes of work, vendor issues, and development strategies. Most importantly, you'll ensure safety compliance of all on-site personnel. Additional responsibilities include:
Project Controlling:
Our expectation is the project manager will assume financial responsibility for the entirety of the project and will provide timely and relevant reporting to stakeholders and team members. This includes but is not limited to project billings, facilitating invoice payments, drafting subcontracts and purchase agreements, evaluating bid estimates, monitoring scope changes, preparing change order requests, and tracking earned value. This also includes engineering duties such as preparing and coordinating submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and close out materials.
Team Management:
Maintaining McKinstry's strong culture is a top priority and you will act as a steward of that culture, both internally and externally. When applicable, you'll help coach and mentor junior staff, and establish strong relationships with outside labor and subcontractors.

The pay range for this position is $84,240 - $145,200 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent professional experience required.
- Five (5) years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction is required.
- Experience working for a General Contractor or architectural metals subcontractor preferred.
- Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Suretrak preferred.
- Completed OSHA 30 class is required.
- Basic estimating skills preferred.
- Demonstrates an understanding of accounting and financial management preferred.
