The Program Management Office for Zero Emissions Fleet Transformation is looking for
professionals who are passionate about reducing fleet greenhouse gas emissions while
balancing the needs of the city's delivery of revenue and non-revenue services. This is
an exciting opportunity to work on various aspects of the Agency's efforts to electrify
transportation landscape and take direct action on reducing greenhouse gas emissions
from our buses.
Some of our key greenhouse gas reduction strategies are as follows:
1. Use of zero-emission technologies towards achieving full fleet electrification by 2040;
2. build electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure to support the fleet electrification; and
3. deploy appropriate vehicle telematics to efficiently manage and deploy the electric fleet.
Responsibilities
This role in the Zero Emissions Fleet Transformation office will include some portion or much of following activities:
Delivery of discrete work units/projects related to zero-emissions projects:
monitoring and managing project deliverables that span multiple departments
comprehensive issue and risk tracking across the program
quality assurance plan
timeline management and monitoring the execution of zero-emissions project deliverables
reporting of project status throughout the life-cycle.
liaison and engagement (internally with procurement, budgeting and maintenance groups)
Coordination of pilots, proofs of concept and viability trials:
externally funded research applications, reviewing bids and drafting non-technical and institutional strategic position content where appropriate
support knowledge base for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating specialist advice
manage pre-award activities
sign-off on zero emission bus specs
Envisioning the future state and the transformative strategy:
long range transition planning for 2040 zero-emissions fleet
build an inclusive strategic plan and strategy by collaboration
identify joint ventures and other strategic partnership opportunities
ensuring suitable metrics are in place to measure performance and progress
budget planning and what-if scenario gaming
Facilities and electric utility oversight:
establish and manage the oversight of construction schedule as it relates to various charging infrastructure projects for zero-emissions transition at our bus depots
oversight of field activities
engagement with power utilities
oversight of quality assurance plans
Education and Experience
A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Urban Planning, Engineering or a related field and six (6) years of full-time, related experience, at least two (2) years of which must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity; or
2. A satisfactory equivalent of the combined education and experience requirements.
