SNC is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead and support the Mechanical, Structural and Electrical Engineer teams. As an Engineering Manager, you will be using your skills and expertise to manage functional teams through program execution for our products and services. You will represent the engineering disciplines of mechanical, electrical, and structural at all management level meetings. You will own and continuously improve processes and procedures, oversee training of staff and provide technical direction as required. As the Hardware Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of improvement and development within our engineering organization. You will work closely with the program engineering teams to identify areas for improvement and help develop and implement solutions. Process - Hardware Engineering process compliance, development, improvement, training, metrics, and audits
Tools - Hardware Engineering Tool Training, Maintenance, and Modernization
You may also manage a small core team of engineering/modeler specialists that are typically allocated to IAS programs Must-haves: Bachelor's of Science degree in a related discipline and typically 12 or more years of relevant technical experience
Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulation
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
A strong technical foundation in systems engineering design principles and practices
Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, analysis, and simulation tools
Self-starter, flexible, and adaptable with excellent verbal, communication, and people skills
The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance is required Preferred: Typically 4-6 years of relevant leadership and/or project management experience (A higher level degree in may be substitute for experience)
Previous management experience; exposure to recruiting employees; assigning, directing, and evaluating their work; and overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence
Experience with identifying and coordinating resources to ensure the required tools, processes, and training are available/effective and programs are staffed and supported to achieve success
Understanding of how to prepare project schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates for proposed program work packages
Ability to motivate/work with others
Prior exposure to working successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment emphasizing rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision
Proficiency with Microsoft Project
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military Estimated Starting Salary Range: $159,430.15 - $219,216.46. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
