The Mission Analysis Lead will be responsible for leading a highly technical team that performs modelling, simulation and analysis of multi-domain systems to support mission execution concepts and derive system performance requirements. The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience and expertise in Mission Analysis via system modeling and simulation as well as experience leading technical teams and personnel. The Mission Analysis Lead will lead the Mission Analysis team as they define and execute mission analysis studies using industry standard modeling and simulation tools and also develop novel modeling and simulation tools when necessary. Responsibilities: Providing Operational Analysis Subject Matter Expertise at the individual and team levels to support a variety of programs, proposals and internal research and development projects across a multi-Domain portfolio that includes Space, Air, Land and Sea.
Performing technical planning and ensuring quality execution of technical work for the Operations Analysis team.
Verification and Communication of Operations Analysis results to peers, leadership, and customers in presented and documented form.
Day-to-day task management of a growing team of 5-10 Operations analysis engineers across various levels and specialties.
Ensuring adequate tools and processes are in place to enable success of the Operations Analysis team.
Leader and mentor in the Operations Analysis field. Must-haves: Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 16 or more years of relevant experience
Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Progressive Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
Desire for new challenges, to be on the ground floor of an exciting capability for our nation, and to be part of the initial cadre developing new multi-domain systems.
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Experience performing System Modeling and Simulation, including analysis, documentation and presentation of results.
Experience evaluating sensor or weapon system performance across multiple domains, including air and space.
Experience working in or familiarity with common industry system modeling tools and languages, such as Matlab, STK, Cameo EA, SysML, Python, and C++.
Experience with DoD modeling environments (Brawler, Suppressor, AFSIM, EADSIM, ESAMS, etc).
Ability to derive requirements and design drivers from system modelling and simulation results.
Ability to independently research, adapt and/or develop mission analysis tools to solve novel problems.
Superb presentation skills with presentation experience to decision-making and technical audiences.
An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required. Preferred: Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience in a team leadership role, especially in system development.
Master's degree or higher in related field of study.
Functional Management experience (people, processes and tools), including experience hiring, training and mentoring technical teams.
Operational employment of and/or domain knowledge in electronic warfare, space domain awareness, electro-optical sensing, and mission communications
Experience with supplier technical management and the ability to create and foster trusted relationships with suppliers and partners.
Experience developing supplier statements of work (SOWs) and specifications.
Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management.
Experience with systems engineering management tools, such as JIRA, DOORS, GIT.
Practical knowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).
Experience across all phases of the program development lifecycle, from capture through design, implementation and test. Estimated Starting Salary Range: $183,344.68 - $252,098.93.
