High Performance Computing Consultant
The Opportunity:
Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your technical skills with big picture thinking to make an impact in critical civilian missions? You understand your customer's environment and how to develop the right systems for their mission. Your ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused engineering solution.
Booz Allen is seeking a thought leader to drive solution development and client delivery for high performance computing. Your roles and responsibilities will balance specific client and internal needs related to development of solutions and business. These responsibilities include serving as a technical and managerial Project Lead to support client computational science, engineering, and high-performance computing programs, holding responsibility for all facility activities to ensure that customer goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames, and planning and managing updates, upgrades, and O&M services for the clients' supercomputing and artificial intelligence or machine learning infrastructure providing the client's research staff and their collaborators with access to mission critical, computational research platforms and state-of-the-art post-processing and visualization capabilities. You'll also be responsible for Scientific and Research LANs and supporting core and closet switches, PB-scale storage systems, advanced desktop computers, connections to research systems such as SCADA and LCS systems, and user support.
You'll assure equipment is maintained while providing infrastructure planning support with the goal of improving and developing new capability and capacity, including scheduling of preventative maintenance, performing patching and upgrading of research software and systems, planning and implementing hardware or software refreshes or upgrades, and ensuring systems are prepared to enable disaster recovery if necessary. You'll lead support to the client's HPC refresh, hold responsibility for coordinating work between our subcontractors, the federal client, site support personnel, and vendors performing logistical support for the physical changeout of the old HPC and installation of the new HPC, develop client offerings and comprehensive solutions in the HPC space, and produce intellectual capital supportive of client engagement, sales, business development, and capture. You'll hold core responsibilities for the development and execution of market entry and business expansion strategies, support sales activities throughout the sales cycle, and meet client service-level expectations by being physically present at client site as needed to respond to client needs.
