Join the Mission Systems Integration team at BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems. As a member of the Mission SEIT team you will have responsibilities to validate the collection segment prior to launch with continued mission integration and test activities post-launch for mission capability enhancements. This role requires someone that is capable of understanding mission concepts and customer needs, and applying that knowledge to verify and validate the end-to-end system functionality. What You'll Do: Define simulator requirements and use-cases to support Collection Segment and Mission Integration & Test activities.
Ensure all simulators, Ground Support Equipment, network interfaces, and other resources are identified and in place to support mission-level testing.
Lead mission-level test activities, including early data exchanges, risk-reduction activities, end-to-end data verification, space-to-ground compatibility, factory compatibility, and multi-segment testing.
Develop, release, and maintain the SV to ground ICD (Interface Control Document) and all ICDs with external interfaces.
Provide support for the development of the mission CONOPS (Concept of Operations) and functional baseline.
Support operations and launch rehearsal development and execution.
Plan and execute continuous Mission Systems Integrations and Test activities post-launch for issue resolution, space vehicle software updates, ground system updates, and operations updates.
Work closely with the verification lead to develop the mission-level verification plan.
Develop and implement the Mission Test Plan and Mission-level Test Procedures.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
May access other facilities in various weather conditions. Required Education, Experience, & Skills BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 5 or more years related experience.
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
Experience with spacecraft simulators, and space vehicle test operations. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Knowledgeable about COSMOS or other mission operations software.
Experience in verification of requirements using Python or simulator operations.
General knowledge of simulator operations.
Experience with mission integration and test, both pre-launch and post-launch.
Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Linux, software scripting, and JIRA.
Experience as a test director and/or test conductor on aerospace programs.
Solid interpersonal skills, ability to effectively lead group discussions, prioritize tasks, and delegate as required to meet all objectives.
Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or CAM experience. Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $111000 - $137500 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
