About the Role & Team
In the Environmental Sustainability Line of Business, we are responsible for setting the strategy and leading the planning and development of environmental projects to achieve the Walt Disney Company's 2030 environmental goals, which include emissions, water & oceans, waste, materials, and sustainable design.
As the Environmental Sustainability Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects focused on reducing the environmental impact of Walt Disney World operations in alignment with the Walt Disney Company environmental goals and targets. You will define scope, set goals, identify key partners, set timelines, build key performance indicators, and conduct post-project evaluations to identify efficiencies moving forward. Projects include resource conservation, driving environmental efficiencies such as expanding recycling infrastructure, plastics reductions, water stewardship, and electricity and fuels emissions efficiencies.
This role will report to the Environmental Sustainability Manager.

This role will report to the Environmental Sustainability Manager.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for project planning, which includes defining scope, goals, estimates, timelines, site walks, fieldwork, and deliverables as well as identifying key partners and resources needed for the project
- Facilitate communications and logistics among project team members and partners by providing regular project updates, managing expectations, and addressing concerns
- Identify, assess, prioritize, and mitigate potential risks that could impact the successful completion of a project
- Develop and run project budgets across multiple lines of businesses which includes, forecasting and monitoring actual expenses against the budget throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement, with the aim of implementing efficiencies moving forward
- Experience leading projects including defining scope, goals, timelines, and deliverables, identifying key stakeholders and resources needed for the project
- Proficient at generating business solutions and concisely presenting options for leader review and approval
- Experience managing timelines, anticipating and making tradeoffs, and balancing goals while negotiating solutions
- Ability to track key performance indicators and develop and manage project budgets, including forecasting cash flows and monitoring actual expenses against the budget throughout a project lifecycle
- Experience managing change, balancing priorities, and handling confidential information
- Ability to independently lead complex client requests and relationships with each business unit at Walt Disney World
- Ability to engage, influence and inspire project teams to drive agreement on project plans and timelines
- Proven track record of strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to articulate high level strategy into operational day to day function, connecting with Cast and Leaders at all levels across multiple business units
- Industry expertise with the ability to identify sustainability trends and assess application and alignment potential at Walt Disney World
- Ability to work occasional irregular hours to accommodate international time zones (estimate 10-20 hours per month - Florida, California, France, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo)
- Able to handle 5-20 hours per week doing field work, walking with partners onstage and backstage, performing studies, handling waste in a variety of different weather conditions. Able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Knowledge of Disney Theme Park and Resort Operations, or Line of Business experience
- Bachelor's degree in environmental sustainability, engineering, analytics, business, project management, or related field or 3+ years of related experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, preferred
