To learn more about Mission Technologies, click here for a short video: Job Description Huntington Ingalls Industries, Technical Solutions Division (HII-TSD) is currently seeking a Systems Administrator. The ideal candidate works well in an agile, fast moving culture and has a fundamental passion and curiosity to learn. Essential Job Responsibilities Maintain development systems (i.e. security patches, kernel updates, OS updates).
Use procedures to perform identification, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of hardware failures and restore system capability to operations.
Provide administrator support (User creation/deletion, security group management, storage media permissions, shared resources configuration).
Manage transferring of data between networks as needed
Purchase and configure PCs for new personnel.
Purchase and maintain printer toner inventory, replacing cartridges when needed.
Maintain system documentation and inventory database.
Perform other infrastructure maintenance tasks as required.
Ability to review, understand and create technical documentation and diagrams
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and applications, including virtual machines and hypervisors (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, trace and manage fiber and Ethernet connections, ensuring network integrity and performance
Ability to modify group policy on different baseline images to meet evolving security requirements
Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency using tool
Minimum Qualifications 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience
Current CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows OS, Windows Server OS
Understanding of OSI networking model
Must be able to bend, reach, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb rung ladders and work in confined areas.
Secret clearance required to start
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with advanced security checks
Preferred Requirements Active TS/SCI security clearance
Experience configuring and managing VPN connections to remote sites.
Other IT/technical certifications than listed above.
Experience working in classified environments.
Experience working with NIPR, SIPR, other DoD networks.
Experience with different databases, including working knowledge of SQL, relational data stores.
Experience with Linux OS.
