This position will be responsible for managing the company's quality lab, performing required inspections for PPAP and annual part layouts, and supporting the production floor with day-to-day quality related questions. In addition, this individual will be a member of the Internal Audit Team.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will be responsible for managing the company's quality lab, performing required inspections for PPAP and annual part layouts, and supporting the production floor with day-to-day quality related questions. In addition, this individual will be a member of the Internal Audit Team.
Responsibilities:
Influence within the Organization:
- Oversee and maintain the company's quality lab as best-in-class.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and communicate status of inspections, MRB (material review board), internal audits, quality issues, etc.
- Maintain strong working relationships with leadership and cross functional teams.
- Create and maintain the company's inspection schedule, identify and mitigate product and process risks, assist manufacturing with understanding and maintaining quality requirements and facilitate team meetings.
- Provide support to respond to changing customer requirements.
- Provide first level support to production Team Leads for quality concerns.
- Perform production team weld verifications (destructive testing, etch tests, etc.).
- Manage the material review board (MRB) process.
- Coordinate external metrology calibration.
- Perform annual part layout inspections.
- Perform inspections for PPAP parts.
- Manage the PPAP master sample inventory.
- Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies.
- Support Engineering with part inspection as needed; this could include first and last piece set up verifications.
- Perform necessary laboratory services, using hand measuring tools as well as a Romer Arm, CMM, and optical comparator.
- Participate as a quality system Internal Auditor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience or an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Strong math, spatial and mechanical reasoning skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Prior training/experience with metrology instrumentation.
- 3D scanner programming experience, Romer Arm preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints including GD&T.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - specifically Excel and Word.
- Strong written and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to/passion for supporting the quality management system.
- CMM experience.
- Experience ballooning prints.
- Experience as an Internal Auditor.
- Experience working in a contract manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a stamping, welding, and assembly environment.
