To learn more about Mission Technologies, click here for a short video: Job Description The Virtualization Engineer will support research, development and administration of virtualization technologies for use in the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE). Virtualization technology will be used to operate NCTE's advanced simulation systems and enterprise information technology systems with reduced operator and hardware cost, improved flexibility in resource allocation, reduced system reconfiguration time, and improved security. The Virtualization Engineer will work in cooperation with Engineering and Operations divisions to assess the current architecture and evolve future enterprise computing requirements towards virtualization where it makes sense. While keeping abreast of current virtualization disciplines, this position will work with technology solutions providers, evaluate effective solutions and make operational recommendations to NCTE management. Additional duties include authoring standard operating procedures, training of operations personnel and tier 3 technical support. Individual must work well independently as well as have strong team oriented skills. Essential Job Responsibilities
• Advanced Technical Certifications including knowledge of virtualization, networking, storage and compute server platforms.
• Experience with VMWare ESXi server 7 and greater
• Experience with Windows Servers 2016 and greater, Windows 10
• Experience with Redhat Enterprise Linux 8 and greater
• Experience with Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guidelines
• Experience with VMware vCenter Server
• Experience with VMware Horizon View
• Familiarity with VDI technologies and protocols
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and digest technical information
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems
• Ability to visualize overall view of systems and conceptualize and document creative solutions
• Experience with iSCSI a plus
• Experience with Compellent storage devices a plus
• Must Currently Hold and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance Minimum Qualifications 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
