HII is seeking a Field Technician level 2 to support our growing team supporting our various customers. The Technician shall Apply technical knowledge to perform repairs, fabrication, modification and installation of electrical wiring harnesses, cables, wires, wiring assemblies and associated parts. The technician must be able to demonstrate the practical application of wiring procedures and possess the knowledge of tools and equipment required to perform required functions. The technician must be a self-motivated, resourceful, disciplined, and able to handle complex wiring tasks with the ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced team environment with other technicians to accomplish all tasking with extraordinary attention to detail. This position requires the ability to communicate with the supervisor and/or project manager on any issues pertaining to the task. Work is reviewed for specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments. Aircraft experience highly desired. Responsibilities: I want to and can do that! Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment.
Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades, and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications, relations, and provides onsite training. Requirements: I have already done that or have it!
• Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years related experience.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience performing the stated functions required.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand installation work packets, drawings, and schematics.
• Experience with Fabricating MIL-STD wire and cable assemblies.
• Use of various hand tools, precision tools and test equipment such as crimp tools and multi-meters.
• Ability to apply critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Ability to coordinate work assignments with Customers, technicians, and other aircraft maintenance personnel. Preferred Requirements
• IPC 620 and J STD training (proof required)
• Fiber Optic Termination and Inspection Experience
• Use of laser wire marker, label maker and solder station equipment.
• Familiarity with the NAMP (4790), NAVAIR 505, and performing tasks on a active flight line
• CONUS and OCONUS travel to customer sites as needed. Physical Requirements May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
