To learn more about Mission Technologies, click here for a short video: Job Description HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Field Engineer with Electrical experience to provide engineering support for the Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment - Combat Systems Part Task Trainers for the U.S. Navy team at Dam Neck. This position requires an engineer to review design drawings, identify interface requirements, recommend solutions, design and layout circuits and printed wiring boards, create cable drawings, support cable fabrication and hardware maintenance, and participate in audits and technical meetings at Dam Neck, VA. Essential Job Responsibilities Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives. Acts as local on-site representative to customer's organization. Review design drawings for completeness, identify interface requirements and recommend solutions for interface problems.
Perform design and layout of circuits and printed wiring boards with the Government and provide input to all required documentation, construct breadboards, wire wrap mockups, and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
Fabricate and assemble hardware, panels (including silk screening and engraving), cable harnesses, and connectors on cables, update or revise existing Government fabrication and assembly data.
Provide project and user support that is inclusive of cable fabrication, hardware installation and relocation, hardware preventative and corrective maintenance, hardware fault isolation and hardware repair.
Support planning, designing, acquisition recommendations, implementation, and integration of system hardware components.
Engage in Functional Configuration Audits and Physical Configuration Audits (FCAs/PCAs) of specified US Navy PTT platforms. Minimum Qualifications 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. Have knowledge of run sheets, wiring diagrams, and drawings to build, wire, interconnect, and label cables and components. Possess the ability to use a multimeter, power supply, oscilloscope, etc. to test for or verify various voltages, resistance values, to ring out cables/identify pins/wires, determine if a circuit is working, bread boarding a circuit to determine if it operates as designed. Knowledge of VISIO to create cable drawings, adding tables, borders, and title blocks.
Familiar with the use of ALTIUM to create printed circuit cards, create footprints, drawings, and Gerber Files for manufacturing.
Preferred Requirements Current or active DoD Secret security clearance preferred. Experience with U.S. Navy Part Task Trainers
Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software components
Experience with drawing and modeling designs as part of a Technical Data Package (TDP)
Experience with Autodesk Inventor drawings
Electrical Engineering degree or another Electronics Degree
