Duties Serve as supervisor over an organizational segment or unit and is responsible in planning and directing work operations. Plan and monitor weekly throughput of aviation testing assets inside of Aircraft Support Division. Establish and implement workflow requirements for aircraft platforms. Determine training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment of such training. Ensure all Crew Chiefs maintain proper flight status and follow guidelines as prescribed in AR 95-1, TC 3-04.11, and local SOP policies and procedures. Ensure crew rest polices are strictly enforced for flight personnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Incumbent may be required to work extended hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Incumbent must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance (Tier 3). This position requires a one-year supervisory probationary period. Employee must undergo and pass pre-appointment physical examination and meet established by OF 178 This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program If you misrepresent your experience/education, or provide false/fraudulent information in/with your application, it may be grounds for not hiring you or for firing you. Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Effort: Work assignments require moderate to strenuous effort. Workers must climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and stand for prolonged periods on concrete or metal surfaces. They frequently lift parts and equipment that weigh up to 9 kilograms (20 pounds). Occasionally, they may lift and carry items that weigh about 23 kilograms (50 pounds) with mechanical lifting devices or assistance from other workers, if required. Working Conditions: Work is performed in hanger areas, outdoors, in parked aircraft, and sometimes in hazardous noise areas. Workers are exposed to extremes in heat, cold, and inclement weather. They often must work in confined spaces and in awkward positions. Dirt, dust, grease, and aircraft fluids are common in the work place. They are exposed to oil, hydraulic fluid, solvents, and hazardous fluids and gases, such as Hydrozine and Halon. Cuts, bruises, muscle strain, and injury from falls off scaffolds, ladders, and aircraft surfaces are possible. They are subject to injury from actuating flight control surfaces such as speed brakes, flaps, horizontal stabilizers, landing gear, tail hook releases and aircraft ordinance. In some work situations, they may be exposed to intake suction and hot exhaust blast. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
