CMI is expanding, and we're looking for an Environmental Technician to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of various regulatory permit applications (e.g. air permits, stormwater permits, wastewater, hazardous waste, etc.);
  • Support ongoing compliance to air, stormwater, hazardous materials, and waste compliance regulations and permits through the performance of emissions calculations, emission statements, stormwater sampling and reporting, hazardous and residual waste tracking and reporting, EPCRA reporting (e.g. Tier II and TRI), etc.;
  • Prepare technical documents and reports including assessments, audits, emergency spill plans (SPCC, PPC, SWPPP), stack test protocols and reports, etc.
  • Perform technical regulatory research and technical calculations;
  • Present effective employee and supervisory training programs to clients
  • Serve clients as a technical lead and face-to-face representative

Requirements and Experience:
  • Experience in preparing various regulatory permit applications, including air permits, stormwater permits, wastewater, and hazardous waste permits.
  • Proven ability to support ongoing compliance with air, stormwater, hazardous materials, and waste regulations through emissions calculations, emission statements, stormwater sampling and reporting, hazardous and residual waste tracking and reporting, and EPCRA reporting (e.g., Tier II and TRI).
  • Proficiency in preparing technical documents and reports, such as assessments, audits, emergency spill plans (SPCC, PPC, SWPPP), stack test protocols, and reports.
  • Strong skills in conducting technical regulatory research and performing technical calculations.
  • Ability to develop and present effective employee and supervisory training programs.
  • Experience serving as a technical lead and face-to-face representative for clients.

Education and Credentials
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Geology, or a related scientific discipline.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to physically perform the duties and work in the environmental conditions, which may require light physical efforts, ability to wear respiratory protection and exposure to hazardous materials or agents

Other Requirements:
  • Background check and potential drug screening required for the position
  • Overtime and flexible working hours may be necessary based on project demands
  • Residence within a reasonable commuting distance
