We have an opportunity available for an Electrical Engineer to support the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) located in San Antonio, Texas. AFNWC provides, maintains, and sustains our war-winning capabilities to ensure operational readiness and effectiveness for assets around the world. This position will provide direct support to the Weapon Storage and Security System (WS3) Position requires a TOP SECRET security clearance. Essential Job Responsibilities Assist with establishing design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and testing.
Provided engineering documentation, reporting, and drawings in support of design, development, production, and testing.
Identify complex engineering issues and recommend solutions to electrical components, systems, and products.
Analyze electronic circuits through simulation and/or analysis to recommend component substitutions or redesign solutions.
Provide support in maintaining and improving the design of existing electrical components, systems, and products that which may include identifying, analyzing, and resolving obsolescence issues.
Gather, compile, and maintain technical data such as test results, engineering design changes, engineer drawings, and documentation for analysis and evaluation.
Provide input regarding test plans/procedures and reports, technical data packages (technical requirements, engineering drawings, models, and diagrams, and specifications/standards), and engineering related program documentation such as Systems Engineering Plan, Security Strategy, Configuration Management Plan, Lifecycle Sustainment Strategy, Test and Evaluation Master Plan.
Minimum Qualifications 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field. Preferred Requirements 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
5 years of experience designing, developing, building, analyzing, testing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems.
Clearance: Active TOP SECRET security clearance required.
Physical Requirements May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
