To learn more about Mission Technologies, click here for a short video: Job Description HII Mission Technologies Division's Fighters and Advanced Aircraft, Bombers, and Propulsion Systems Team has an immediate opening for a mid to senior-level Software Engineer who is ready to make an immediate impact leading software requirements definition, software development process implementation, software integration, and software test activities in a laboratory and on-aircraft environment. In this role, the candidate will be supporting radar, navigation, and communications system modifications on world-class Department of Defense/United States Air Force Fighters and Bombers Aircraft. This role directly supports the Fighters and Advanced Aircraft and Bombers Directorates at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. This is a hybrid position with approximately 60% of the work being at the client site on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the other 40% being telework. This may vary week-to-week based on client requirements and meeting schedules. Essential Job Responsibilities Capture requirements, design, develop, extend, demonstrate, and deliver software products
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions
Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and integration of new system capabilities
Determines user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
Apply software engineering, development, and testing best practices ensuring that applicable software design standards are achieved
Use systems engineering and agile development processes
Collaborate with mixed contractor and government teams
Help provide documentation, integration, and training support to users
Assisting in the review, comment, and acceptance of software-related deliverables from the equipment manufacturer
Providing software engineering-related inputs to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) including Performance Work Statements (PWSs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Systems Requirement Documents (SRDs), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and other RFP products as required
Minimum Qualifications 9+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related technical field; or 7+ years relevant experience with Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related technical field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13+ years relevant experience.
Experience as a Software Engineer in a Department of Defense/United States Air Force Acquisition Program Office working aircraft radar, navigation, and/or communications systems modifications
Experience deriving detailed technical requirements from higher-level operational/systems performance requirements
Experience implementing and managing Agile software development processes
Ability to work well in team environments including distributed teams.
U.S. Citizenship and Secret security clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI
Preferred Requirements Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) Life Cycle Logistics, Level 2 Certification
DAWIA Certification in Engineering and Technical Management (ETM)
TS/SCI security clearance
