Our client has an immediate opening for a CAD Designer onsite in Lexington, MA! Candidates must be US Citizens with an active Secret Security clearance Responsibilities:
-Develop complex designs for the optimum performance and ease of fabrication, assembly and testing of complex imaging systems, thermal systems packaging solutions, novel materials and innovative mechanisms
-Experience with a wide range of platforms (i.e. manned/unmanned vehicles, aircrafts, ships, spacecrafts)
- Experience with the design and modeling of mechanical enclosures, optical assemblies with an understanding of requirements needed for Mounting/adjustment/actuation, alignment & measurement techniques, precision bearing, gearing & drive systems, structural/thermal analysis and environmental testing.
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
-Should demonstrate good written and oral communications skills. Required Skills:
-5+ years experience in Mechanical Design, Mechanical CAD experience (Solid Works or other CAD software). Vast experience with mechanisms and complex mechanical assemblies.
-Experience with design, analysis and documentation of opto-/mechanical subsystems and components
-Familiarity with various fabrication techniques like machining, sheet metal, etc
-Familiarity with thermal analysis and structural analysis
-Familiarity with Optical systems and the design of EO/IR systems Preferred Skills:
-Opto-mechanical experience is highly preferred. Candidates with this experience will stand out.
-Experience with various fabrication techniques like machining, sheet metal, etc
-Experience with military standards, mil spec components
-Experience with thermal analysis and structural analysis
-Experience with Optical systems and the design of EO/IR systems
-Experience with coordinating and executing system performance testing
