This is an opportunity to join the fast-paced world of engineering the next generation manned and unmanned combat vehicles and watercraft systems for the U.S. Army and Marine Corp. Working as a DCS employee in Littleton, Massachusetts, you will be part of the team developing and demonstrating of the next generation electrified vehicles. This power electronics engineer position will be based out of Littleton, Massachusetts.
Essential Job Functions:
The candidate's essential functions include:
Providing technical leadership and expertise in the areas of power electronics to Teams during the design, integration, and testing of HEV systems
Performing analog and digital circuit design, power electronics circuits design and analysis, modeling and simulation using SPICE and or other modeling and simulation tools, developing and optimizing control algorithms for motors, inverters, and power supplies.
Serving as a subject matter expert on power electronics design and development and mentoring junior engineers.
Interfacing with customers and vendors.
Supporting hybrid electric and electric vehicle integration and testing.
Performing design verification tests and other tests as required.
Troubleshooting and debugging technical issues and providing solutions
May also be directed to perform other engineering tasks not listed above.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Ability to obtain security clearance.
BSEE degree from an accredited college or university.
8+ years of experience designing power electronics products including motor drives/controllers, inverters, converters, and power supplies.
Circuit Modeling and Simulation experience including but not limited to: analog, digital, and power circuits.
Experience designing gate drive circuits for kW drives or inverters, 3-phase power stages, selecting power components (IGBTs, Capacitors, sensors etc.)
Desired Skills:
Experience working with electric vehicle power components and LRU's: electric motors, generators, drives/inverters, DC-DC converters, battery storage systems, power distribution, cooling systems, cable and harnesses.
Knowledge and experience with higher wattage electronics (>100kW) and 600 VDC or higher
Experience with Silicon Carbide transistors
High voltage safety training or knowledge
Experience with CAN Bus is highly desirable.
Knowledge and experience with Microcontroller, FPGA, VHDL, C/C++ experience
Knowledge and experience with Signal conditioning circuits
Knowledge and experience with Design for EMI compliance
Knowledge and experience with Design for regulatory safety compliance
Design for military ground vehicle or automotive experience
