Mass Properties engineers at SNC research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and support cutting edge products & services. These cover a very wide range from state-of-the-art mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft systems. You'll be responsible for developing complex aerodynamic components, structures, and systems. throughout the product lifecycle. Mass properties engineers are responsible for all aspects of mass properties on aircraft programs from preliminary weight estimation, mass properties database generation, regular weight status updates, to final aircraft weighing. Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Advanced experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Thorough understanding of SAWE RP7 and prior experience authoring SAWE RP8 reports Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Up to 50% travel to Wichita, KS required for the position. The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required Preferred: Familiarity with wind tunnel and aircraft flight test.
Exposure to aircraft stability principles and control system design and analysis
Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, and fundamentals of flight mechanics Estimated Starting Salary Range: $138,634.92 - $190,623.01. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position. SNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more .
