Overview SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Analyst in Charlottesville, VA that will provide analytical support as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of applied remote sensing professionals. Essential Job Duties Responsibilities include processing and exploitation of complex information including spectral, thermal, and/or synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data.
Applies basic-to-complex non-literal-analysis techniques in the visible (VIS) through shortwave infrared (SWIR) spectral regions, mid-wave infrared (MWIR), and longwave infrared (LWIR) hyper-spectral data.
Processes and analyzes multi- and hyper-spectral, thermal infra-red, and synthetic aperture radar remotely sensed data; prepares tailored information and intelligence products.
Applies experience with image processing systems, geographic information systems, and related applications to produce products supporting deployed combat units.
Responsibilities include full implementation of remote sensing capabilities including analysis and production, test and evaluation, data processing, and dissemination, intelligence production and workflow.
Performs duties with minimal oversight; applies knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies; provides technical assistance to project leaders and program managers.
Provides analytical assistance to other GEOINT Imagery Scientists analysts and customer workforce. Works as part of such teams under immediate direction of an Image Scientist.
Provides user input to developers and conducts operational validation of novel exploitation algorithms, tools, and methodologies.
Minimum Requirements Active in Scope Top Secret clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligible.
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited school in a field of basic or applied science or engineering. Typical fields of study include; Remote sensing, chemistry, physics, biology, geology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, geography, and the agricultural sciences.
In special cases, with the discretion of the appropriate Government representative, commensurate experience will be accepted in lieu of educational requirement.
Four years' previous experience in an operational intelligence production environment.
Four years' experience using collection, research and analysis applications against classified and open source information, including use of GOTS and COTS software-based GIS tools.
Two years' experience writing IDL/Matlab/Python programming code toward developing GIS applications to improve efficiency and/or focused on intelligence reporting.
User-Level experience in remote sensing imaging and non imaging systems (e.g., Multispectral, hyperspectral, thermal, radar, OPIR and infrared.
Likely deployment or travel/TDY to SOUTHCOM, CENTCOM or other AOR as required. Work Environment Relatively fast paced, time critical environment.
