BAE Systems in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to support the Integrated Survivability Solutions (ISS) product line, in the Countermeasures & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions business area. As an industry leader in EO/IR and RF technologies, ISS is dedicated to advancing multi-platform detection, tracking and defeat of incoming threats to support aircraft, ground vehicle and maritime survivability. In this role, you will: Lead a team of software developers working software implementation for our state-of-the-art threat detection solutions to include the 2-Color Advanced Warning System (2CAWS) and the AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) products.
Design, develop, and test complex software and tools for EO/IR technologies.
Evaluate complex software designs to identify design flaws.
Ensure effective communication between assigned engineers and all other participants in the design process.
Use existing processes and evolve processes to utilize the most effective new techniques as they become available, assuring the use of methodologies which minimize both design cost and product cost.
Participate in external project interactions with customers and other companies.
Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, and Test engineers in one or more phases of the program including: Project Planning, Requirements Development, Design, Development, Integration and TestWho you are:

You take pride in delivering quality in everything you do. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and minimum of 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
Eligible to obtain a DOD Security Clearance
High-level language proficiency in C++
Extensive background in embedded and/or application software development in one or more: C++, Python, Java, Ada
Foundation in Object-Oriented design and implementation principles
Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools
Experience performing software testing, validation, and verification activities Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience with Real-time Embedded Software Development
Experience with Agile Development and DevSecOps
Experience developing Linux and Windows Operating Systems
Experience or willingness to code in Ada and Python
Experience using software tools like Jira, Confluence BitBucket, Gitlab
Experience with Containers including Docker, Podman or Kubernetes
Software automated test development and execution
Software modeling experience
Software algorithm development
Software Leadership experience

Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
