About the Organization:
E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. (E2) is a professional services firm established in 1988 specializing in a full spectrum of engineering services including, project engineering and design, federal base operations and infrastructure support services, gas pipeline construction and inspection services, environmental consulting and remediation, and information technology services. At E2, we value safety, innovation and collaboration, and we are dedicated to excellence.
Overview:
This role is pivotal in overseeing the deliverables for PV Solar projects, guiding clients from the initial concept, through siting and permitting, to the comprehensive delivery of turnkey designs, construction, and startup phases. Our Renewable Energy team specializes in power generation and storage for both utility-scale and commercial/industrial sectors, offering extensive experience in design and project management. Our services span from initial PV Solar design and reviews to detailed site inspections and follow-up reports. Our project scope ranges from 0.5MW to 300MW, with interconnection voltages from 480V to 500kV, encompassing both standalone storage and hybrid systems combining storage with other renewables like wind and solar. This position reports directly to the Senior Renewables Engineering Manager, ensuring a significant role in advancing renewable energy initiatives.
This opportunity requires up to 50% travel in USA
Responsibilities:
Conduct energy production model reviews and technical due diligence: Evaluate the accuracy and reliability of energy production models, ensuring they meet technical standards and project requirements. This includes:Design and Engineering Reviews: Analyze PV system designs for optimal performance and compliance with engineering principles and safety standards.
Technology Reviews: Assess the suitability and reliability of solar technologies used in projects.
Energy Model Review: Examine energy production estimates for accuracy and realistic assumptions.
Financial Model Review: Evaluate the financial projections of PV projects to ensure they are based on sound energy production estimates.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in PV projects, including technical, financial, and environmental factors.
Perform site inspections including testing (IV tracing, thermal imaging, insulation resistance ): Carry out comprehensive site inspections to verify the physical condition and proper functioning of PV installations. This includes performing various tests such as IV (current voltage) tracing to assess the performance of solar panels, thermal imaging to detect overheating issues, and insulation resistance tests to ensure electrical safety.
Overall project management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of PV projects, coordinating between different stakeholders, managing timelines, and ensuring projects meet quality standards and regulatory compliance.
Periodic Sales support: Provide technical expertise and support to the sales team, assisting in the preparation of presentations, answering technical queries from potential clients, and contributing to the development of sales strategies.
Scopes and proposals drafting: Draft detailed project scopes and proposals, outlining the objectives, methodologies, timelines, and budgets for PV projects. This involves understanding client requirements and designing tailored solutions to meet their energy needs.
Produce energy models in HelioScope and PVsyst: Develop accurate solar energy simulations using HelioScope and PVsyst software to predict the performance and output of photovoltaic (PV) systems. This involves selecting appropriate system components, configuration, and environmental conditions to create reliable energy production estimates.
