Contract Duration 4+ months
Job Description
Performs a wide variety of optical or opto-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies.
Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing assembly, test, and data collection on assembly units.
Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to specifications.
Involved in producing a variety of optical components, including sub-assembly, assembly, prototype, inspection, modifications, upgrades, and rework
Assemble lens products in accordance with Manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, travelers, configuration logs, etc)
Manual and/or automatic assembly, inspection, and test of optical parts
Verify kits are complete and correct
Assist Engineering in the creation, development, and revision of assembly documentation.
Verify the accuracy of finished assemblies to provide quality output
Work closely with the Test Team, Manufacturing, and Engineering departments
Process assembly using a variety of materials (adhesives, coatings, epoxies, etc)
Mechanical assembly using a variety of hand tools (drivers, sockets, etc)
Education, Experience & Skills
High school education or equivalent
Some experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
The best candidate will have Knowledge and Experience in the following:
Ability to work from written instructions, process travelers, etc.
Assembly of optomechanical components with related tooling
ISO policies and procedures
Clean room procedures
Ability to work with small parts under a microscope for extended amounts of time
Manual dexterity, mechanical assembly
Microsoft Windows and Office applications
Must be a US Citizen or have Permanent Resident Status
