We have an immediate need for a Sr. Software Systems Quality Engineer (Quality Assurance/Compliance) to support the Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU). The successful candidate must reside within 90 miles of Tucson AZ (travel compensation is not included). This position is an onsite role. Key Programs
LADS includes Short/Medium-Range Ground-Based Air (Stinger NGSRI Next Generation Short-Range Interceptor , EIFPC Enduring Indirect Fire Protection Capability , Sentinel, MFRFS Multi-Function Radio Frequency Sensor ), Precision Fires & Maneuver (TOW Tube Launched Optically Tracked Wireless , Javelin, Excalibur), and High Energy Laser (CUAS; Counter Unmanned Aerial) systems that are supported across the USA (Tucson AZ, Huntsville AL, Fort Wayne IN, Fullerton CA, McKinney TX). LADS also includes Global Patriot (domestic and international), Ghost-Eye / LTAMDS (Lower Tier Air & Missile Defense Sensor), and NASAMS (National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System) programs that are primarily supported from Northeastern USA in New England (Pelham NH, Andover MA, Tewksbury MA, Marlboro MA). What You Will Do
Within Quality Mission Assurance - Engineering & Sustainment Quality Assurance (QMA ESQA), Software Quality Engineering (SWQE) provides quality services to the business. It is embedded in the product development lifecycle to ensure quality, cost, schedule, and technical objectives are met. Job duties include classified activities in onsite secure labs and unclassified activities in a dedicated workspace. Employee will ensure verification and validation of design, development, integration, and testing of digital products. Digital Products include software, firmware, models, simulations, releases, defects, and documentation. Common tasks involve review of Software Release Packages (PDM, ADS), CDRL Deliverables (IR, CN, ECP), Software Investigation Requests (SIRs), Software Trouble Reports (STRs, Code Reviews), Physical Media (Loader Verifier), Test Artifacts, as well as participation with Peer Reviews (SW, SE), Control Boards (SRB, SSRB), Tracking Books (Metrics Monitoring), Command Media (Policies & Procedures), Test Witnessing (SQT, FQT), and Audits. Focus Areas Products - Ensure integrity of the technical data package. Monitor and participate in test and release. Identify, collect, and measure software quality attributes, metrics, and data. Compliance - Participate in all phases of product design and development. Ensure digital products adhere to contractual and corporate requirements. Review and approve inputs and outputs to/from Software, Systems, and Integration & Test organizations. Processes - Leverage modern experiences with software development and quality best practices. Conduct code analysis. Increasingly adopt Agile and DevOps methodologies. Improvement - Perform independent evaluations and risk assessments across lifecycle. Facilitate root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities with corrective actions. Teamwork - Interact with customers, product development, and test personnel. Provide guidance to senior leadership, team members, and group peers. Key Locations
Software Quality collaborates with its Engineering partners (Software, Systems, Safety, etc.), other Quality functions (Hardware, Product, Mission), and Program Quality Leads (PQL). Primary activities occur daily at the main Tucson site (Airport Facility: 1151 East Hermans Road) .
Visits to other nearby sites/facilities (Rita Road and Palo Verde) as needed.
Limited remote work may be periodically defined by and authorized by supervisor. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) Education and five (5) years of Quality Experience (Assurance, or Compliance, or Engineering) or Engineering Experience.
5 years working experience applying advanced technical principles in software development processes (e.g., requirements management, code reviews, configuration management), defect management (e.g., dispositioning, prioritization, resolution), and artifact assessments (e.g., software releases, systems documentation, records management, customer deliverables).
Experience with software requirements (e.g., contract, statement of work, specifications), development (coding, building), test (plans, procedures, traceability, reports), compliance (validation, verification, auditing), and continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD).
Experience on Agile teams with related processes (e.g., sprints / iterations / increments, stories / points, backlog / burndown, defect density / removal).
Experience with Software Quality Metrics development and tracking, as well as Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (RCCA).
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Security Clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer Advanced Degree.
Ability to lead project initiatives within small teams.
Experience creating Microsoft Power Point presentations for Senior Management.
Familiarity with DevSecOps and toolchains (e.g., Azure DevOps Server, Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, Git, Coverity, Cucumber, Selenium, Fortify, Grafana).
Familiarity with integrated development environments, applications, modeling, or databases (e.g., ClearCase, DOORS, RQM, Cameo, Rhapsody, Oracle, SAP).
Knowledge of Quality Management Standards (ISO9001, AS9100, AS9115).
Experience using continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
Knowledge of Lifecycle Phases and Gates (e.g., IPDS). Tucson, AZ: ,-az-location The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
