The Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy's submarine and aircraft fleet. Our company is looking for an experienced Model-based systems engineer to support our Program-wide digital transformation and join our team.
The Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) Digital Transformation Program Office is looking for an experienced model-based systems engineer to lead start-up efforts across diverse engineering teams in various organizations and across the product lifecycle. The qualified candidate will also be responsible for MBSE training and strategic and technical coaching at various leadership levels both internally and externally with our naval customer. The qualified candidate must have very strong communication skills and will collaborate with key NNPP organizations (e.g., key stakeholders from shipyards, vendors, etc) across many domains of work to understand and develop a strategy to prioritize MBSE infrastructure, training, and execution that supports project needs and schedule. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate on technical and project issues to senior leadership at NNPP, as well as keep abreast of new emerging technologies in the digital engineering domain. Some travel will be required.
Requirements
Broad knowledge/experience of work and engineering tools related to a digital transformation for a similar size organization
A minimum of 4 years of experience in model-based systems engineering and digital engineering
Has the ability to create virtual representations of physical systems (models) Knowledge/experience with data management strategies and technologies. Demonstration of strong teaming and collaboration skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
B.S., M.S., or PhD Degree in engineering or a related discipline
Active DOE or DOD clearance.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilites
A demonstrated can-do attitude and a desire to learn new things.
Experience with enterprise-wide implementation of new technology solutions.
Demonstrated familiarity with Agile processes and execution
Experience using Product Lifecycle Management tools, such as PTC Windchill Experience using CAD tools, in partiular PTC Creo
Experience in Model Based Design
Some knowledge or experience in IT systems
