Salary Range: $110-$130K General Duties: Aleut is in search of a highly motivated individual to develop, validate, and instruct Space Operations course material in primary support of USSPACECOM's Academic Engagement Enterprise (AEE) with supplemental support to the 319th Combat Training Squadron (CTS) USSF Officer Training Course (OTC) at Peterson SFB, CO. This work is expected to start on 30 September 2024. The focus of USSPACECOM AEE is to collaborate with academic institutions for workforce professional development, increased space relevant research, expanded space focused partnerships and strengthened space dialogue. Course curriculum shall be developed for the audience of college interns to understand scientific concepts and terminology associated with space operations, the principles of operating in space and how those principles influence space mission design and how space capabilities support joint operations. Specific Duties: Develop, qualify on, and deliver in-residence space operations course materials consistent with the principles of Instructional Systems Design (ISD), and aligned to USSAPCECOM AAE and 319 CTS OTC instructions, security classification guides, and other guidance as identified in lesson plans
Interface with internal and external agencies as required to update and maintain a state-of-the-art training program
Coordinate instructional activities with government personnel
Additional duties: as assigned
Work on-site - minimal telework authorized
Required Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of USSPACECOM organization, structure, and missions (i.e. Space Law; Space Organizations; Denied, Degraded, and Disrupted Space Operational Environment).
Possess working knowledge of Space Systems (i.e. spacecraft Payloads; spacecraft subsystems; satellite operations; electromagnetic fundamentals; RADAR and electro-optical basics).
Demonstrated knowledge of Space Sustainment (i.e. space logistics & space lift; space environment living conditions; rocket propulsion).
Demonstrated knowledge of Space Domain Awareness (i.e. fundamental ballistic missile technology and operations, USSPACECOM missile warning and missile defense mission areas).
Demonstrated knowledge of Space Policy (i.e. commercialization of space; defensive and policy challenges of commercial assets).
Possess working knowledge of Satellites (i.e. positioning, navigation, and timing; environmental monitoring; space-based remote sensing; orbits and their benefits/challenges.
Working knowledge of instructional design skills (ADDIE) and adult learning theories in all phases of instructional design, and ability to apply it to work assignments.
6 to 8 years of experience with USAF/USSF training, to include planning and delivering instruction in accordance with the ISD model.
Skilled communicator, experienced in providing platform instruction to an academically diverse audience. Completion of Air Force Instructor Course or similar joint instructor course preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
Active or current Top-Secret clearance and SCI eligibility or ability to obtain one.
Education and Required Experience: Master's degree from an accredited institution in relevant field or a bachelor's degree and 8 years of additional experience may be substituted for education requirement.
Years of Experience: Minimum of 4 years of space operations-related experience either in industry, academia, or with a U.S. Government agency.
