Summary You will serve as an Air Operations Manager within Commander, Navy Region Hawaii, Operations Department (N3), Air Operations Program (N32). You will serve as the technical expert, principal advisor, and process integrator to the Operations Director and Region Commander on all N32 matters. Duties You will track activity manning levels, program training accomplishments, and the equipment required to execute the installation Air Operations mission, ensuring installation N32 compliance with published directives and enhancing mission readiness. You will coordinate work requirements with all levels (e.g., installation senior leadership, CNIC N32) to ensure Air Operations program initiatives support regional requirements. You will monitor airfield inspections, equipment certifications, and program readiness reports to ensure discrepancies are addressed and technical support is provided to maintain a high level of region and installation N32 mission readiness. You will develop draft responses to general inquiries and requests for information pertaining to N32, from the public, Congress, White House, federal agencies, and state/local governments. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Tracking activity manning levels, program training accomplishments, and the equipment required to execute the installation Air Operations mission, ensuring installation compliance with published directives and enhancing mission readiness; 2) Coordinating work requirements with all levels to ensure Air Operations program initiatives support regional requirements; 3) Monitoring various airfield inspections, equipment certifications, and program readiness reports to ensure discrepancies are addressed and adequate resources or technical support are provided to maintain a high level of mission readiness; and 4) Developing draft responses to general inquiries and requests for information pertaining to the command, from the public, Congress, White House, federal agencies, and state/local governments. The work is primarily sedentary; however, carrying of light weight articles, walking, standing, climbing, lifting, stooping, bending, and travel via military or commercial conveyance are periodically required. The incumbent is required to travel to PMRF to conduct airfield and flight line inspections which exposes the incumbent to high velocity winds, exhaust fumes, dust, and high levels of noise, and requires the use of personal protective equipment.
