The Opportunity:
The Commissioning Engineer will participate on specialized assessment teams, working closely with other engineers, architects, scientists, and technicians on domestic and international projects supporting our Buildings Engineering Sustainability Team clients. Duties will include commissioning, facility condition assessments, energy/utility audits, building benchmarking, and design support.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply and grow your skills and experience to:
Leverage strong leadership skills while working as a Commissioning Agent and Site Assessment Lead.
Perform all commissioning related activities to include OPR, Cx Plans, design reviews, pre functional tests, functional tests, commissioning reports, and systems manuals.
Participate on energy projects, including audits, efficiency studies, and microgrid / renewable energy development focused on improving client performance.
Support design projects, including design compliance verification with applicable codes and standards, energy modeling, LCCA, QC, and controls.
Independently lead a project team and make presentations to clients.
Orchestrate the successful coordination of project schedules and budgets.
Coach and mentor junior staff.
Implement continuous process improvements to enhance client services.
Elevate collaboration within a full-service team of like-minded engineers, architects, scientists, technicians, and project managers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
A minimum of 7 years work experience (10 years preferred) in building field assessments for commissioning and energy projects.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
Industry recognized commissioning certification.
Previous project and/or project management experience in commissioning and facility condition assessments.
Ability and willingness to travel 30-50% of the time.
Ability to travel throughout the US and internationally with a valid passport. US citizenship or permanent legal residency is required.
Located or willing to relocate to Jacksonville, FL.
Advantageous:
Expert with AutoCAD and REVIT.
Proficient with BLCC5 and similar LCCA programs.
Proficient with FacilityGrid or similar digital commissioning management platform.
Competent with Trane Trace 3D Plus and similar energy modeling software.
Competent with Microsoft software suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Data analysis skillset and proficiency with associated programs (e.g. Microsoft Excel and PowerBI).
