Job Overview:
Summary

Responsible for testing electrical and mechanical systems and components. Read and interpret drawings such as mechanical assemblies, control/power panels, schematics, and piping & instrumentation diagrams. You will use your hands or machines to do the job with greater precision. You must have good technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity. Ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and follow them with precision. Be able to troubleshoot basic to medium complexity issues related to electrical and mechanical functionality of built systems. Commission manufactured equipment at customer locations.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Testing of transmitters, switches, valves, etc. on bench and/or after final assembly.

Working with various BMS systems to tune industrial burners.

Perform and document functional test of mechanical and electrical equipment after final assembly.

Program and troubleshoot control equipment such as temperature controllers, vfd's, burner management systems, etc.

Read assembly drawings, wiring schematics and piping & instrumentation diagrams to confirm equipment functionality after it is built.

Travel to sites to install, commission, or troubleshoot equipment.

Perform onsite commissioning and support of systems and equipment as well as ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and calibration after installation.

Provide site leadership, technical direction, and assistance to the customers.

Follow the direction of the other senior technicians.

Verify specifications of equipment built are correct.

Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions independently.

Ensure the work environment is clean and safe.

Report and/or make recommendations to engineering for possible improvements on products.

Work with the shop and sometimes assist with assembly or wiring of components as need arises.

Required to work overtime as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Travel

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 60% of the time. Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment and at customer sites. This role routinely utilizes the operation of material handling equipment and various tools and machinery. This is an entry level position where you will work and learn from other technicians. You will work under the supervision of the senior commissioning technician and the Field Services Manager. Training will be provided on areas identified that need improvement as needed.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and work with various materials and/or tools, as well as work and bend at different heights, in various temperatures, and be on feet for an extended period of time.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED certificate

Good safe work practices

1+ years' experience working on industrial burners.

3+ years of experience in industrial electrical and mechanical assembly or repair.

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude

Excellent problem-solving skills

Good communication skills

Experience operating power tools, shop machinery, hand tools and electrical test equipment.

Experience working in an Industrial environment

Annual Salary

$22/hr - $30/hr
