The Leidos Counter-WMD Weapons and Capabilities SE&I Team has an opening for a Testbed Systems Engineer at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico in support of a Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DRTA) program. As a member of the DTRA Counter-WMD test team, you will support test planning (to include problem framing and data analysis) and support research and development efforts to improve general Counter-WMD testing capabilities. In this role you will provide systems engineering, recommendations, and functional analysis of technology specifications to define test objectives and parameters across the target hardness spectrum for the development of the Statement of Test Objectives (SOTO), to include: Exploit weapon systems and develop systems engineering measures to test against soft targets within the full spectrum of WMD and C-WMD.
Perform systems engineering assessments supporting improvised explosive devices, pre and post detonation.
Perform functions in the full spectrum WMD/C-WMD and CBRNE space to define limited access of technology gaps for weapons and weapon systems.
Perform systems engineering for nuclear and non-nuclear weapons and weapon systems including small unmanned aerial vehicles (sUAS) to support technology growth in defined capability gaps.
Perform systems engineering analysis and assessments using counter radio electronic warfare systems demonstrating performance measures against testing of weapon systems, sUAS and improvised explosive devices.
Perform targeting assistance with national technical means support to WMD/C-WMD testing.
Perform systems engineering analysis to homemade explosives testing defining capabilities and gaps supporting the WMD mission space.
Exploit vetted systems engineering processes to assess, track and present capability gaps/shortfalls across the target hardness spectrum within the WMD defeat mission areas.
Develop trade-off analyses to enhance performance while minimizing cost and programmatic risk to identify weapon system requirements for identified capability gaps/shortfalls for the purpose of developing technology maturation roadmaps.
Perform systems engineering assessment of the technology gaps in WMD Defeat and Hard Target Defeat (HTD) weapon systems that currently limit the predictive capability of design limits/margins at the weapon system/subsystem/component levels.
Support program integration across the WMD defeat mission across the target hardness spectrum and technology activity areas.
Support matrixed test teams as the Test Scientist and/or Technical Coordinator involved in CWMD testing to include IED and UAS threats.
Occasional business travel may be required, up to 20% of the calendar year. Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI clearance is required. We have the ability to hire at the Top Secret level for highly qualified candidates who are willing to upgrade to TS/SCI. Required Experience, Skills, and Education: Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, additional work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience with developmental testing and evaluation, with an emphasis on weapons systems.
Strong analytical skills, with some knowledge of Design of Experiments methodologies. Desired Experience, Skills, and Education: Prior DTRA or AFRL testing and evaluation experience.
PMP certification.
