Our client is a fast-growing company known for its ability to provide highly engineered technology, service and system solutions to a range of aerospace and associated markets.
Globally focused with strategic facilities on four continents, they offer a range of products, components and integrated systems that are found on most commercial and military aircraft, as well as on unmanned aircraft, military ground vehicles, shipboard applications and spacecraft. Core product lines include: fluid control, landing gear and actuation, and electro-mechanical control.
Position Summary
Lead the Quality program and organization at the Hauppauge site. This position will be charged with supporting the Operations and Supply on all sides of the business as well as using the tools to drive systemic process improvements into our organization. The role will be partner with multiple stakeholders in the Hauppauge business from operations to outside customers each day. Most importantly, this associate will play a critical role in advocating for our customers and as such, be a key member of the Hauppauge Leadership Team.

Inspection Supervisor
Principal Activities
Responsible for long term market position by assuring the quality of our solutions, and processes.
Responsible for ownership of CAR (Corrective Action Report) and SIR (Shop Incident Report) systems as well as all non-conforming actions.
Smooth transactional capability for certification preparation, actively support shop RCCM, implement a solid vendor quality review process, and develop team as needed.
Achieve seamless product and process flow, gain NDT Level certification to support all weld and NDT inspections and personnel training, testing and certification.
Establish positive relationships with key customers.
Partner with customers as required to assist with problem solving by determining root causes, implementing effective counter measures, and follow up.
Support on time delivery with timely completion of QA document packages and building Quality into Operations.
Assist with contract review and flow down of customer requirements.
Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to create a plan and document accordingly.
Partner with suppliers as required to assist with problem solving by determining root causes, implementing effective counter measures, and follow up.
Support Defense shipments while improving productivity of completing necessary activities.
Assist Operations to reduce the number of customers reported quality issues (VIR's, SCAR's LOA'S) to improve customer vendor scores.
Work to simplify processes with easy-to-understand language and allow for flexibility.
Reorganize resource allocation implement feasible, sustainable measuring techniques toward the TQM effort.
Requirements
Ensure compliance with ISO 9000 & AS9100.
Must have an ASQ of Quality Excellence, ISO and AS9100 Audit understanding and MTI-I-45208 knowledge.
Must have clear understanding of Defense contract and specifications able to work closely with shipyard and DCMAO inspectors.
Must have a clear understanding of FAR clauses and contract requirements flow down to maintain all requirements are followed through production and inspection plan.
Must have experience with military inspections related to contracts NDT processes ISO and other government technical documents to ensure compliance.
Must have leadership abilities, strategic thinking, foster innovation, manage time, perform with integrity and relationship building and create value.
Must have solid Six Sigma, and root cause corrective action training. Formal training in the Toyota Production System/Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
Must be an exceptional communicator with the ability to interact with all levels of the business
Must be a U.S. Citizen to meet DOD requirements
Must be able to travel 10%
Education & Experience
Experience is often gained through work in a specific technical field or professional discipline. Their experience may include "lead " responsibilities or other past supervisory experience.
4-year college degree in an applicable field and five years related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
