To learn more about Mission Technologies, click here for a short video: Who We Are Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is currently seeking a Project Manager for the Logistics Engineering (LE) Department to work in the Engineering, Design, Logistics and Planning (EDLP) Operation. The Logistics Engineering Project Manager will provide leadership and oversight to a diverse range of complex contracts across a broad spectrum of Government Agencies. The successful candidate will also support re-compete efforts for LE and EDLP programs/projects and provide strong department engagement in close partnership with the senior business portfolio manager for the EDLP operation in supporting new business initiatives and opportunities. The LE Department has highly skilled personnel working primarily at HII Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) and sites in Hampton, VA; with anticipated growth in other regions. The department serves a variety of customers that includes Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD), as well as other private and public shipyards and commercial customers. What You Will Do Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
The ability to lead, coach, and mentor subordinates, assist in the management of department financial results, build strategic partnerships, and propose innovative and compelling solutions to meet customer requirements are also critical requirements of this role.
What You Must Have 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
Candidate must have strong knowledge of Logistics engineering / acquisition logistics, design concepts, client trends / needs and latest toolsets / application requirements are required.
Candidate must have a broad knowledge of acquisition logistics with a focus on program management and maintenance planning. Candidate must have clear understanding of the interrelationships of both logistic disciplines and products.
Candidate must have a conversant knowledge of Reliability, Maintainability and Safety Engineering.
Candidate must have a clear understanding of the design development cycle with what information is necessary for products and when that information is available.
Candidate must have an understanding of contractual documentation and where logistics and logistics impacting requirements can be found in that documentation.
Candidate must have a Confidential clearance with ability to obtain Secret if required.
Candidate must have experience in personnel management, can be open in dealing with all personnel.
Candidate must have an understanding of military organization and shipboard command structure.
Bonus Points For Having! RCM Certification (Level 1 or 2) preferred.
