This position is part of the Integrated Training Systems Installation and Sustainment (ITSIS) support contract for the U.S. Navy. Selected candidates will be required to travel to shipyards and military bases located around or out of the country when not assigned to a local task. Per Diem available based on location when on travel, travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company. What You Will Do Applies comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.
Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others.
Performs a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks.
Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management.
Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.
What You Must Have Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance to be considered.
Must be able to obtain and maintain DBIDS base access.
Candidate must have experience/certifications in at least one of the following areas: Experience installing, repairing, and troubleshooting Fiber Optic cables and/or Multi-Pin Copper connectors on US Navy or other marine vessels.
Experience working as a Quality Control Inspector (QCI) in the ship building/repair industry.
Experience working on Battle Force Tactical Trainer (BFTT/ATD) systems.
Must have marine electrical maintenance experience on US Navy and/or other marine vessels.
Must be able to work from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts or work orders as well as written and verbal instruction.
Must be capable of using various electrical/electronic measuring instruments.
High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
Bonus Points For Experience in large NIWC/SPAWAR integrated installation contracts is preferred.
Prefer candidates who have NAVSEA STD 009-123 Fiber Optic and/or NAVSEA STD 009-073 Multi-pin Copper certifications.
Experience in Shore C4I is preferred.
Prior Quality Assurance certifications are preferred.
Shipyard Competent Person (SCP) certification is preferred.
Prior AIT or active-duty experience on current active class ships is preferred.
Candidates possessing a current U.S. Travel passport are preferred.
Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
