The Plant Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, maintenance, and improvement of plant systems, equipment, and processes. This role will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all production equipment, ensure compliance with safety standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Plant Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the plant's infrastructure is operating at optimal performance.

Description

  • Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of all plant equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and utility systems.
  • Ensure all equipment and processes meet regulatory standards and safety requirements, including food safety standards (HACCP, GMPs, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and work with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency, reduce waste, and improve energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to optimize process flow and product quality.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Lead capital projects including equipment upgrades, plant expansions, and process improvements.
  • Manage and control the plant's engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial goals.
  • Provide technical expertise and training to plant staff on equipment and systems operation.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives.


Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in plant engineering within the food manufacturing industry.-Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, FSMA) and GMP requirements.
  • Proven experience with maintenance management systems, capital projects, and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with automation, PLCs, and electrical controls in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
