Job Description: Senior Technical Leader and hands on technologist to oversee a complex system integration effort involving all engineering disciplines to bring advanced Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) capabilities to the Warfighter. You will help to grow and then manage a highly capable engineering team with a very diverse set of skills including large contingents focused on system interfaces, cybersecurity, and AI/ML algo development and training. Expertise in sensor and weapon system integration and C2 systems would be very applicable. Job Posting Parsons is looking for an experienced Sr. Engineer Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and mission experts to develop and field Counter UAS systems beginning with our Installation - Counter small Unmanned Aircraft System (I-CsUAS) solution for the United States Marine Corps (USMC). What You'll Be Doing: As the Senior Engineer Manager for our multi-disciplinary team focused on the I-CsUAS solutions for the USMC you will be responsible for the overall technical success of the effort including identifying and leading the team in adapting and overcoming any technical hurdles that arise during execution. Collaborate with your functional peers to achieve overall program success. This includes transparent and timely communication of issues and engaging in solution-focused risk-mitigation discussions. Work with industry partners and our customers to establish initial system baseline configurations and validate their effectiveness through simulated, SIL and real-world testing. Lead the team's engineering development and validation efforts, including significant interaction with and technical management of Parson's various sensor, effector and C2 System partners/providers. Lead the team in standing up the program's Systems Integration Lab (SIL). Ensure the technical team provides efficient and responsive technical support to install, update, and maintain hardware, software, commercial off-the-shelf (COTs) components, firmware, test tools, emulators, and simulators for the CUAS systems. Manage Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) activity including acting as the technical interface to the customer. Manage the CM team providing software/hardware configuration management (CM) and ensure we follow a rigorous CM process aligned with the customer requirements. Manage the Cybersecurity team in implementing and maintaining a cybersecurity requirements and best practices This includes ensuring we support the government customer in obtaining a Authority to Operate (ATO) by providing a Risk Management Framework A&A Information Support Package. Perform engineering studies, analysis and engineering technical assistance that lead to future system enhancements and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) improving our overall system performance and operator efficiency. These efforts may also address potential efficiencies in production, interfaces between subsystems and/or components, and insertion of leading-edge technologies or practices. A specific example would be: enhancements to optimize detection, tracking, identification and mitigation of CUAS threats using a variety of new and innovative sensors and effectors. Manage the technical team in supporting survey, design, test, integration, operations, and sustainment activities of the system per the system specifications. Mentor and lead technical staff in both direct report and matrixes capacities What Required Skills You'll Bring: BS, in an Engineering or related technical discipline 15+ years of work experience with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership on complex development and/or systems integration efforts.
Experience working with DoD Customers on larger programs of record. Experience in systems integration and requirements management for complex system. Thorough understanding of the DoD CM and Engineering Change Proposal processes and direct experience supporting it's implementation on a large project/program. Complex problem solver and thought leadership Experience managing multi-disciplinary software/hardware engineering teams. Minimum of a Secret clearance. Ability and willingness to be very hands-on with software and hardware. You will lead not just the resolution of technical issues, but to do so while maintaining an awareness of overall program timelines. You will establish development milestones and manage your team's priorities to meet dependencies and drive efficient execution. What Desired Skills You'll Bring: Experience in Counter-UAS, UAS, and/or air defense or similar systems products/programs. Experience with some or many of the variety of CUAS sensors and effectors including but not limited to: Radars, RF Direction Finding Sensors, RF Cyber/EW sensors and effectors, Visible / EOIR Cameras, Laser Range Finders (LRF) & LIDARs, Acoustic Sensors, High Power Microwave (HPM) Effectors, High Power Laser (HPL) Effectors, Kinetic Effectors, Battlefield Command and Control (C2) systems as well as AI/ML and classical object detection & classification software and Tactical displays. Extensive experience with Java. Familiarity with Python, C+, C# preferred Deep understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) applications in CUAS Modeling and Simulation experience Minimum Secret Clearance Experience in the design and development of unmanned systems Live in the Northern VA area Hybrid (In-office/Remote work schedule) Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.
