We have an immediate need for an onsite Senior Software Systems Quality Engineer (Quality Assurance/Compliance) to support Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS). The successful candidate must reside within 90 miles of Tewksbury, MA (travel compensation not included). Key Programs
LADS includes Global Patriot, Ghost-Eye / Lower Tier Air & Missile Defense, and National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile systems that are primarily supported from Northeastern USA. It also includes Short/Medium-Range Ground-Based Air (Multi-Function Radio Frequency Sensor, Enduring Indirect Fire Protection Capability, Stinger Next Generation Short-Range Interceptor), Precision Fires & Maneuver (TOW, Javelin, Excalibur), and High Energy Laser (Counter Unmanned Aerial) systems that are supported across the USA. What You Will Do Within Quality & Mission Assurance, the Software Quality Engineering (SWQE) department provides services to the business. It is embedded in the product development lifecycle to ensure quality, cost, schedule, and technical objectives are met. Job duties include classified activities in secure labs and unclassified activities in a dedicated workspace. Common SWQE tasks involve review of SW Release Packages (Windchill PDM, Azure DevOps Server), CDRL Deliverables (IR, CN, ECP), SW Investigation Requests (SIRs), SW Trouble Reports (STRs, Code Reviews), Physical Media (Loader Verifier), Test Artifacts, and participation in Peer Reviews (SW, SE), Control Boards (SRB, SSRB), Tracking Books (Metrics Monitoring), Command Media (Policies), Test Witnessing (SQT, FQT), Audits. Focus Areas Compliance - Ensure digital products adhere to contractual and corporate requirements. Review and approve inputs and outputs to/from Software, Systems, and Integration & Test organizations.
Processes - Leverage modern experiences with software development and quality best practices. Increasingly adopt Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
Improvement - Perform independent evaluations and risk assessments across lifecycle. Facilitate root cause analysis and continuous improvement with corrective actions.
Products - Ensure integrity of the technical data package. Identify, collect, and measure software quality attributes, metrics, and data. Monitor and participate in test and release.
Teamwork - Interact with customers, product development, and test personnel. Provide guidance to senior leadership, team members, and group peers.
Key Locations
Software Quality collaborates with its engineering partners (Software, Systems, Safety), other quality functions (Hardware, Product, Mission), including Program Quality Leads. Primary activities occur daily at the main Tewksbury, MA site (50 Apple Hill Drive) .
Periodic test witnessing occurs monthly at nearby Andover, MA site (3 miles; 362 Lowell St.) and quarterly at nearby Pelham, NH site (11 miles; 50 Bush Hill Rd.).
Infrequent visits to Marlborough, MA site (35 miles; 1001 Boston Post Rd.). Qualification You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) Education and five (5) years of Quality Experience (Assurance, or Compliance, or Engineering) or Engineering Experience.
5 years working experience in a Quality or Technical role and applying advanced principles across at least THREE of the following.
Information Technology: software applications, servers / appliances, virtual machines, networks, or storage.
Performance Requirements: software/systems specifications, functionality, release plans, statement of work, contracts.
Software Development: requirements decomposition, code reviews, functions / features, building / configuration management, integration.
Defect / Bug Management: dispositioning, prioritization, resolution.
Records Management: software executables, release notes, security bulletins, training manuals, user guides, customer deliverables.
Systems Integration: labs, software, hardware, connectivity, tools, equipment.
Test Witnessing: test plans, test procedures, use cases, scenarios, requirements traceability, test reports.
Compliance Evaluation: validation, verification, auditing, action items.
Release Management: checklists, labels, versions, licenses, repositories.
Software Installation: patches, upgrades, backups, recovery, synchronization.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer Familiarity with root cause analysis of process issues, or debugging of software/system errors (bugs, failures, triage), and corrective action.
Familiarity with metrics identification, development, monitoring, and reporting (measurement, dashboards).
Ability to create and submit MS PowerPoint presentations for/to Senior Management.
Familiarity with Quality Standards (ISO9001, AS9100, AS9115).
Familiarity with a Quality Management System (QMS) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Familiarity with Integrated Development Environment (IDE) applications, modeling, or databases (ClearCase, DOORS, RQM, Cameo, Rhapsody, Oracle, SAP).
Familiarity with Agile processes (SCRUM teams, sprints / increments, stories / points, backlog / burndown, defect), or Rapid Application Development, with continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD).
Familiarity with DevSecOps Toolchains (Jira, Confluence, ADS, Jenkins, GitHub, Coverity, Cucumber, Selenium, Fortify, Grafana, JFrog Artifactory).
Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methods (e.g., Six Sigma).
Familiarity with Lifecycle phase and gate reviews.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
