We are actively seeking an onsite Electrical Prototype Test Staff Technician to join the Test Equipment Engineering Directorate in Tucson, Arizona.

The Test Equipment Engineering Directorate (TEE) includes all the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & test on all Raytheon products. Our engineers are responsible for all elements of the development lifecycle for test including test requirements, test system design, flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, computer-in-the-loop, advanced engineering prototyping technology, flight operations for manned and unmanned vehicles, environmental testing, environmental characterization and engineering laboratory management. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world.

The Electrical Prototype Test Staff Technician will work in an engineering environment to co-develop engineering hardware in accordance with customer and internal requirements, as well as industry standards. Technicians will collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams across multiple projects to bring design concepts to fruition, providing rapid engineering, fabrication, and prototyping solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle.

What You Will Do
  • Test moderately complex prototype electrical assemblies and verify compliance to workmanship standards (eg. Continuity, isolation, component verification)
  • Rely on moderate experience to interpret drawings, schematics, 3D models, written notes, and specifications
  • Adapt methods and procedures to test, analyze, and troubleshoot new hardware
  • Apply semi-advanced skills to test moderately complex prototype electrical assemblies
  • Assist in electrical/mechanical engineering drawing peer reviews to validate engineering design specifications in development of producible prototypes
  • Assess moderately complex designs to ensure producibility, maintainability, safety, and reliability
  • Document and communicate test discrepancies and workmanship concerns to customers and collaborate on design improvements
  • Perform other task related duties as required


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with minimum of six (6) years of prior experience, or a HS Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of eight (8) years of prior experience
  • Experience in an engineering environment testing electrical assemblies in three or more of the following areas: cables or wire harnesses, breakout boxes, chassis, circuit card modifications, and racked electronic equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills & effective interpersonal skills in order to develop rapport and build positive relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting schematics and drawings to identify producibility issues
  • Military electronics or avionics training
  • J-STD-001 Solder certification
  • IPC 610 & 620 Acceptability certifications and fabrication or test experience.

The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
